Why does everyone spell my name wrong?

There are many mysteries in life:

  • Why do cats stare at walls?
  • Why does the printer only break when you’re in a rush?
  • And why, after all these years, does nobody seem able to spell Gina Pattison Jewellery correctly?

To be fair, I didn’t always have this problem. I used to have a perfectly normal name that people could more or less manage. Then I got married, became a Pattison, and suddenly my surname turned into a spelling test that nobody asked for. 😅

So really, I blame my husband.

Pattison, Paterson, Pattinson… close, but no biscuit

The correct spelling is Gina Pattison Jewellery.

Over the years, I’ve been called all sorts. The most popular versions seem to be:

Gina Paterson Jewellery

Gina Pattinson Jewellery

Gina Patterson Jewellery

Gina Pattison Jewelry

To be honest, I’m not even offended. I’m impressed. Some of them sound like distant cousins who probably have much tidier workshops and better handwriting.

The jewellery is still mine, even if the spelling goes rogue

Whether you searched for Gina Pattison Jewellery, Gina Paterson Jewellery, Gina Pattinson Jewellery, or something else entirely, you’ve still found the right place.

I’m Gina, and I make handmade jewellery in silver and gold, including rings, bangles, necklaces, earrings and remodelled pieces using old gold and inherited stones.

Everything is made by me, usually with a cup of tea nearby, several tools scattered about, and at least one moment where I wonder why I didn’t choose a surname with fewer spelling options.

The official version

For the record, the correct name is:

Gina Pattison Jewellery

Not Paterson, Pattinson or Patterson. You can find my handmade jewellery here:

Gina Pattison Jewellery

And if you arrived here after spelling my name slightly wrong, welcome. You are very much not alone.

I shall continue to blame my husband!
